Case study
A two-second wait, cut to under 60 ms.
Nexora rebuilt Ditch Navigation, the navigation software that helps mariners find safe water, in three months. It now serves more than a million requests every day, and a lookup that used to take as long as two seconds comes back in under 60 ms. The result is live at ditchnavigation.com.

What it is for
Mariners need to know where there is enough water under the hull. Ditch Navigation answers that question. Being wrong is not an inconvenience at sea, which is what sets everything else about the build.
Why the speed mattered
A lookup took up to two seconds. On the water, that is long enough to stop trusting the screen and start guessing. The rebuilt system answers in under 60 ms, and it holds that while serving more than a million requests a day.
What it runs on
React Native on the device. AWS Lambda and AWS Glue behind it, and Mapbox GL for the charts. Nothing in that list is unusual on its own — the work was in what each piece is asked to do and how little of it happens while someone is waiting.
